Radiohead is extending its live return into 2027 with a 21-show run across Australia and Japan.
The band announced the dates on September 7 after weeks of teasing around Japan. According to Pitchfork, the schedule includes performances in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney before the band moves to Saitama, Japan.
The residency-style approach is notable because it allows a major international act to concentrate multiple performances in a smaller number of markets rather than racing through a one-night-per-city itinerary. For fans, it can increase the number of available tickets in each region. For the artist, it can reduce some of the logistical churn associated with large-scale touring.
A global demand story
Radiohead remains one of the rare rock bands able to turn relatively limited activity into worldwide attention. The announcement followed teasers in Japan, including footage shown at Summer Sonic and later outdoor advertising around Tokyo.
The 2027 dates also underline the continuing strength of international touring markets. Australia and Japan have long been important destinations for major acts, and multi-night runs can turn a tour stop into a regional travel event for fans.
